| I'm very excited for FFXIV, the more and more i read about it from interviews the more i want to play it. After talking to a bunch of people it seems like i'll be making a LS again... | |
|
| I dont even know if anyone who reads my LJ is computer savvy but im throwing this out there since im pretty irritated.
About a month ago i went to turn on my computer and it just turned off after powering up for about 5 sec. When i go to push the power button it doesn't turn on. I have to cut the power by fliping the PSU switch off, then back on, then i can turn the power on but it only stays on for 5 seconds then turns off again.
SO i spent about 2 hours diagnosing it by removing parts and replacing with known good parts, its not the power supply, its not the memory, its not the video card, its not the hard drive. Which left me with only 2 things, the CPU and the Motherboard. Because no picture even comes out on the screen and by the way it was acting i figured it seems like its more the motherboard. So i ordered a motherboard and got one today. Installed everything but now i have a similar problem so it WASNT the motherboard.
Now when i cannot even turn my computer on with the method i used with my old motherboard, instead the only way it seems i can turn my computer on is by removing the Power switch connector (the little 2 pin jumper that connects your power switch to the board) and waiting a few sec then plugging it back in, then it turns on for a few sec then turns off, just like the old board. This is making me wonder if its maybe the CASE thats the problem, maybe something is wrong with the controller board on the case or is it really the CPU as thats the ONLY other thing that i havent been able to test.
So has anyone ever experienced this? or any suggestions, it seems im either buying a new case or a new CPU and considering my case is like 7 years old im probably going to buy a new case before CPU as my CPU is only 2 years old.

| So does everyone else get those stupid ass national guard music videos before each movie or is it just here in hawaii? i swear to fucking god i hope kid rock dies in a fire... i cant fucking stand him to begin with and now i have to see some stupid ass music video about the dumbass military every time i want to see a movie? The funniest part is at the end when Dale Jr's random tool ass comes out and is all "durrrrr download this song for freee durrrrrr", what an idiot. | |

| So sad to see that you can just kraken drk zerg a mob and people consider it an "accomplishment". Will ffxi ever take skill again? Or is it just who has more krakens and relics... ffxi = joke, and if you feel differently, you are in denial.
PS - Stop messaging me bragging about your "accomplishments", i dont give a shit about a broken game i havent played in years for these very reasons.

| Havent updated in a long time since i just havent felt there was really anything to update about until now.
As many people may know ive been playing WoW for around a year now at which i leveled a priest to 70 as shadow but then switched to disc for pvp since i find it much more fun to heal in pvp. Sometime after that i decided to level a warrior since ms mace war is ownage in arena but only to find out i hate pvping on warrior so then switched to fury & prot for pve. So right now i have 1 pvp char and 1 pve char that i do things on. Ive started to do prot a few months ago on my warrior and i love it, back to tanking again i guess.
With the release of Wotlk coming out i have just lost any drive to do raids or anything really because all gear will be replaced when wotlk comes out by better gear so why spend time getting shit that will be pointless in 2 months. I'm looking forward to progressing in the 10man raids that are coming out with wotlk as i havent been able to experience very many raids in tbc because of the 25man requirement and i just dont have the time to commit to a 25man raid guild.
Because of this lack of drive to play WoW currently, ive picked up warhammer online. I must say before i got the game i was doing research on it and there was nothing that really looked that good or different than other games i had played in the past so i really didnt have any intention on buying it. Thanks to region i was able to play the beta though before the game came out, just to give it a try and see what it was like. After a couple of days of playing it... i was sold.
I love the way they designed the game. Its based around pvp so unlike WoW where pvp is optional... if you dont pvp in WAR you will suck. Because there are 2 "exp" bars you have, one is your Rank bar which is basically your level bar but instead of calling it "Level 20" they call it "Rank 20" and the other bar is your Renown bar which is like your pvp experience bar. You only get renown points by completing pvp objectives or killing other players. Each level of renown you get you get 1 point which you can use to train into your renown "talents" which you can choose to increase stats/resistances. There are also a few pretty cool passive renown talents you can get as well for pvp. Theres a few ways to do pvp so far that ive seen, scenarios and RVR areas. Scenarios are basically "battlegrounds" that you can queue from anywhere. What i usually do is quests and queue for scenarios and when the scenario queue is up i go in... do my scenario getting exp and renown then when its done you pop right back out to where you were when you went in and you can go on and continue questing as you queue up for another scenario.
There are quests just like in wow that allows you to level solo and public quests... which i must say is by far one of the most awesome features they put into this game. Public quests are basically group quests that are going on in certain areas of maps. By "zoning" into the public quest area you can instantly start taking part of the quest with other people in the area that are doing it as well and u dont have to be in the same group either. Public quests so far seem to have between 3-5 stages so most will go something like this "Stage 1 - Kill 50 xxxx monster that can be soloed" after each stage you get influence points and experience, "Stage 2 - Kill 5 of these much more difficult and usually cannot be soloed", then "Stage 3 - Kill the boss". Thats the typical way it goes but there are ones that you have to burn buildings down or capture things. Once the final stage is done, the game calculates how much each person contributed to the public quest and gives bonus "points" depending on how much you contributed which adds to your random roll. Top rolls + bonus points recieve bags from a chest that pops. Usually its between 4-7 bags that drop from each chest so the top players get a bag that you can choose gear, money, random other stuff. Each area of a zone as you progress is part of a "Chapter" which are tied to the Public quests. Each chapter has a "exp" bar which is called Influence and you can only get these from helping/completing public quests, at 1/3, 2/3, full bar, you can choose a reward. The final reward from each chapter is usually pretty good.
So far im only lvl 17 but im loving it, i love that the game is based around pvp but has great questing/group questing mechanics so that it makes leveling interesting and fun. Basically theres 3 ways im leveling at the moment.. scenarios, public quests, and reqular quests. I like that you get exp for killing people and you dont lose exp for dying, it just makes you want to pvp now and ask questions later when it comes to killing the other faction.
It looks like im definately going to be playing WAR till wotlk comes out... and if wotlk sucks... i might not even continue playing WoW. Only time will tell.

| I just got back to work today after a 2 week vacation. First vacation ive taken since i started this job about 2 1/2 years ago. I still have like a month worth of vacation time so ill probably end up taking more in spring and/or summer. During those 2 weeks didn't do much other than spend time with my gf since she was on vacation as well and play wow.
A week or 2 before i had gone on vacation i made a warrior named Zaken to level just to screw around, i had gotten him to around lvl 12 slowly but with the vacation i decided to just level him up so i went from 12 - 43 in the 2 weeks i had vacation. I'm really liking warrior a lot, its very different than spriest. Also moorcat and sandkat are leveling a druid and paladin which are probably both going to be healers for end game arena/pvp since we dont really have any healers atm. Its great to because i love doing arena and i would like to do it on 2 chars. Its most likely going to be first 3v3 team of my spriest, sandy pld, moor shaman, rgn mage and second team of my war, moor druid, and sandy lock. This week we did pretty well after getting our barrings straight in 5v5, we started off going 0-5 then coming back going 10 straight wins with 1 final loss in the end which ended us in 10-6. Next week now that we know what works better i dont see why we cant avoid the first 5 losses and do something more like 10-1.

| So yesterday while i was playing wow poru sends me a aim saying that someone was using my account and probably wasnt lefneer. Sure enough i go to log in and i cant, the pw i gave Lef and the pw that he told me he had changed it to didnt work. Today i had to call play online to get my password reset. So either my account was hacked or lefneer gave it to someone and they tried to steal the account or something. I really hope you didnt try to fuck my account up or let other people use it when i was nice enough to let you use my account. Im not sure what to think. Either way i have it now.
Dont know if you will read this Lef since i never see you on msn anymore, but did you cancle the content ids for my account a week or 2 ago? If so it looks like who ever hacked the account reactivated my content ids with your CC. I had to change the CC info to my CC info now so your info isnt on the account anymore.
